The Mary’s Meals magazine is the main printed publication the charity uses to communicate offline with its grassroots support base. It is given to supporters who have signed up to receive postal communications, given away at fundraising events and is available on request.
The magazine contains stories from all around the world, featuring updates about the children who receive Mary’s Meals, the communities served by the charity and the fundraisers who make it all possible. Its main focus is to raise awareness of the work carried out by Mary’s Meals, building relationships with supporters and to encourage new supporters to join the mission.
In 2016 the publication needed rebranding, to bring the look and feel into line with the direction the charity was taking after updating its website the year before.
I wanted to create a simple tone, full of hopeful imagery accented by bright vibrant blocks of colour. I created bespoke illustrations, using hand drawn elements and a headline font that continued a ‘handmade’ feel.
The redesign was received well and has went from strength to strength with each new publication.
